In a post on X, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said that separating Moldova from Ukraine in the European Union accession process would be a wrong decision. His message came after meeting European leaders in Brussels, stressing that EU membership is essential for security guarantees. Against this backdrop, Moldova could gain support for membership ahead of Ukraine, which could influence September's elections, but could also cause tensions with Kiev. The EU is considering opening negotiations for Moldova, an important step towards membership.
