The Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests, Diana Buzoianu, announced the results of a control action regarding the leasing of beaches in Năvodari, where 62 out of 75 contracts had illegal constructions. Buzoianu emphasized that all contracts have expired and that Apele Române will not extend them, and that beach operators will pay significantly higher rents if a Zonal Urban Plan (PUZ) is implemented. Future measures include a generalized control of beaches in Romania and the creation of a working group for their management.
Additionally, ANAR announced the organization of public tenders for the leasing of beaches, replacing old contracts deemed disadvantageous for the state. Buzoianu emphasized that beaches must remain accessible to the public and proposed that 20% of each beach be offered free of charge to localities for free access.
