Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment, announced a comprehensive inspection of the beaches in Romania to determine whether the issues encountered in Năvodari are isolated or widespread. She mentioned that the Romanian Waters will not extend the rental contracts for the beach in Năvodari, as 80% of them had illegal constructions. Additionally, a working group has been created to update the beach law, considering that there are legislative proposals that could legalize illegal situations. Buzoianu emphasized that the beaches are public property and that a commission has been established to analyze cases of illegal privatization of these areas. Soon, a report will be prepared highlighting the issues related to access to the Romanian coastline and its management.
