The Constanța Consumer Protection Authority imposed fines totaling nearly 400,000 lei following inspections carried out by six commissioners at 53 economic operators

The six commissioners from the Constanța County Consumer Protection Commission inspected 53 economic operators across the county this week, issuing fines totaling nearly 400,000 lei.

The inspectors permanently banned the sale of non-compliant products worth more than 27,800 lei and ordered the temporary suspension of services provided by 12 economic operators. The inspections targeted accommodation facilities, food service establishments, leisure areas, swimming pools and beaches.

The actions were expanded after dozens of tourists at Hotel Neko in the Saturn resort required medical attention, with inspections revealing major deficiencies in the hotel’s food service area. The operator was ordered to temporarily suspend services, withdraw the non-compliant products and reimburse the affected individuals for the cost of the services.

In Saturn, temporary suspension measures were also ordered at Hotel Cupidon, Hotel Cleopatra, Hotel Narcis and Hotel Mureș. Inspectors found damaged mattresses, bed linen and furniture, hygiene problems, rusty sanitary installations, missing permits and fire safety deficiencies.

In the kitchens, inspectors found food being stored and kept improperly, non-compliant temperatures, dirty equipment and incorrect processing flows. Unstable equipment was identified in leisure areas, while beaches were found to have unhygienic mattresses and no sanitation schedules displayed or maintained as required by regulations.' ,
