The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced on Tuesday that there is a fairly advanced process in creating a draft for the reorganization of ANAR (National Administration "Apele Române" ), stating that there is a need to strengthen the number of staff in the institution, but they will send people where their expertise is needed, closer to the field.
"At the moment, we have a diagnosis, requested a few months ago, which we really wanted to accomplish because we want to reorganize at the ANAR level based on some calculations and some objective information. Basically, the report that came to ANAR establishes that there are 33 risks at the ANAR level, 17 very high, 7 high, 9 of which are critical. And I would like to discuss a bit about the critical risks that are happening at this moment, which are appearing at ANAR. The conclusion of the report is that there is a continued need to hire people at the ANAR level and in the basin administrations, but that all support structures or most support structures are actually inflated and that people should be moved from the support level to the places where the actual work takes place, to the structures where the legislation in the field of water is effectively applied. In this sense, Olt, which is doing quite well with its field responsibilities, is the second basin administration at the national level, with 38.5% support staff. So, almost 40% of the staff supports the remaining 60% who are doing their job in the field," said the interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, at a press conference.
