Sebastian Burduja, advisor to the Prime Minister, announced that next week a legislative project will be presented in Parliament for the introduction of an energy merit, a special distinction that the President of Romania will be able to grant. Burduja emphasized the importance of the energy sector for Romania and requested the collaboration of all parties to support this initiative.
He also assured that, in view of the winter, gas and coal reserves are at a satisfactory level, without anticipating problems in the system. Burduja mentioned the progress in energy storage in batteries, with projects from the PNRR that will add between 4,000 and 5,000 megawatt-hours of capacity. He highlighted the importance of a recently adopted national energy strategy and emphasized the need to continue investments in the energy sector.
