Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, criticized on Monday the 'heavy populism' of some government representatives regarding the reform of special pensions for magistrates, without naming individuals. His reaction came after the statements of Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, who highlighted the difficulties faced by magistrates in giving up their high incomes, comparing the situation to a Caritas-type system.
Grindeanu mentioned that three weeks have passed since the CCR's decision, which rejected the reform due to the lack of CSM's approval. He emphasized the need for quick discussions to avoid exceeding the deadline of November 28 and called for a law to establish a normal pension amount. Grindeanu also accused politicians who take advantage of the confrontation with magistrates for political capital, expressing his frustration over the stagnation of the legislative process.
