The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, announced that the Bucharest City Hall is preparing urban regeneration projects for the city center, focusing on 10 of the approximately 40 analyzed areas. Among the prioritized areas are Magheru Boulevard, Victoriei Avenue, Amzei Square, Lahovari Square, the Brezoianu area, and the Dâmbovița corridor, which will be divided into four sections. Ciucu discussed these projects with architects and urban planners, which will begin to be implemented this year.
He emphasized that some projects will require additional technical and bureaucratic steps, which will lead to a longer completion time. His vision for the center of Bucharest is based on pedestrianization, the creation of quality green spaces, and improving air quality. Ciucu mentioned the importance of the budget for the realization of these projects and promised that there will be public debates on relevant topics.
