PNL Senator Vasile Blaga said on Monday that he would like President Nicușor Dan to designate a candidate for the office of prime minister as soon as possible, amid negotiations to form the future Government. The Liberal said that the head of state must make a decision before leaving for New York to attend the UN General Assembly and must not unconditionally support a governmental formula backed by the PSD.
Regarding the future Executive, Blaga supported the option of a technocratic Government, previously proposed by the PNL, on which “the parties could have reached an agreement.”
According to him, if power returns to the PSD, all the efforts “that have been made for a year and what this people has paid for a year will go to waste within two weeks.”
The Liberal senator also categorically rejected information regarding possible PNL support for suspending President Nicușor Dan, which he described as “rumors.”
“God forbid, there has been no such discussion in the National Liberal Party, and I believe these are rumors, to use a term. But, as for the fact that there is dissatisfaction among us as well, I told you that I too would like him, today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, before he leaves for New York, to make a designation,” Blaga said.
