The general mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced a total estimated value of 63,964,631 lei for the projects included in the Integrated Urban Development Plan. The evaluation of the offers will take into account the financial component, professional experience, execution methodology, and the extended warranty of the works. The contract duration is 18 months, and the deadline for receiving offers is October 1.
The projects aim to better connect the Dâmbovița River and the Old Town with the Court, by constructing the Calicilor Bridge and rehabilitating the banks of the Dâmbovița. In parallel, the University of Architecture has launched a call for ideas for the urban regeneration of Edgar Quinet and Biserica Enei streets, which will be pedestrianized.
The mayor emphasized the importance of a balanced pedestrianization that does not affect the local economy. Other areas in Bucharest, such as Piața Ion Rațiu and Piața Italiană, have already been pedestrianized, and urban regeneration projects will continue to be implemented in the coming years, with the aim of improving the quality of life in the city center.
