Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of the Capital, discussed directly on Digi24 about the ongoing works and the dissatisfaction of Bucharest residents regarding the construction sites in the city. He emphasized that the transformation of the city cannot take place without construction sites, mentioning that the old infrastructure requires urgent repairs.

The mayor explained that large cities that have modernized have gone through a similar process and asked for understanding from the citizens, promising that the current discomfort will be worth it in the long run. Ciucu announced that the works on the Basarab Bridge will be completed by the established deadline, on September 7. He also mentioned plans to build five new parking lots in the central area of the city, emphasizing that these projects will continue even in the case of a new mandate, including the regeneration of the University Square area.
