Polish authorities discovered a suspected Russian drone at a tourist resort in Poland on the Baltic Sea

Polish authorities found an unmanned military drone from the Baltic Sea off the coast of Rusinowo, after the device was discovered near the country’s northwestern coast. A preliminary examination indicates a possible Russian origin, while the area and equipment have been secured for further checks.

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that the military had located and removed the drone from the sea near Jarosławiec. Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk confirmed that all available evidence currently indicates that the aircraft came from Russia. The drone was handed over to the relevant services for technical examination and the exact determination of its origin.

In Parliament, Tomczyk stated that Poland represents an important target for hybrid attacks and surveillance operations. He warned that Russia could continue testing the response of Polish authorities and called on the public to be more attentive to such threats.

Poland has been closely monitoring the activity of Russian drones and missiles since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. The most serious recent incident occurred on the night of September 9–10, 2025, when approximately 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace during an attack on Ukraine.
