The collective labor dispute at Oil Terminal will continue with a warning strike scheduled for September 16 and an indefinite general strike, which will begin on September 28 at 7:00 a.m. The company, controlled by the state through the Ministry of Energy, has notified the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The warning strike, which will involve stopping operations, is scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The Oil Terminal trade union announced the start of the collective dispute on August 24, 2026, following the failure of negotiations on a 6.5% pay increase.

The union members claim that the Government refused to approve the memorandum required for the pay increase, despite a 50-day postponement period and efforts made with the Ministry of Energy, Constanța County Council and the Prefecture.

According to Cartel ALFA, implementing the increase would require approximately 4 million lei by the end of the year, while a five-day strike could cause losses of more than 6.5 million lei. The confederation called on President Nicușor Dan to intervene as a mediator.

Oil Terminal operates the country's largest terminal for the import, export and transit of crude oil and petroleum products. The company warns that it is taking steps to limit the impact on operations and protect its interests.
