On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Constanța Tribunal ordered the termination of the actual strike launched at Oil Terminal, deeming the action illegal. The ruling is not final and may be appealed within ten days of its notification.

The court partially upheld the action brought by Oil Terminal against the Oil Terminal Trade Union. The request to end the warning strike on September 16 was dismissed as having become moot, but the judges ordered the general strike announced in the notification of September 14 to be halted.

Company employees held warning strikes on September 10 and 16, each lasting two hours and without interrupting operations. The union intended to launch an indefinite general strike on September 28, after the initial date had been set for September 17.

The labor dispute began with the union's demand for a 6.5% salary indexation, effective August 1, 2026. The increase was not granted due to the absence of a memorandum from the Ministry of Energy. Oil Terminal is a majority state-owned company and the country's largest terminal for the import and export of crude oil and petroleum products.
