The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that starting next week, it will launch an extensive vaccination and nutritional support program for approximately 44,000 children in the Gaza Strip, in partnership with UNICEF and UNRWA. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that the program will include routine vaccinations, tests for detecting malnutrition, treatments, and monitoring of children's growth. Ghebreyesus highlighted the importance of maintaining the current ceasefire to allow humanitarian operations to be carried out safely, stressing that children in Gaza have been deprived of essential medical services. Additionally, WHO will rehabilitate 20 medical units affected by the conflict and will expand the number of assistance points, thus contributing to the restoration of the health infrastructure in the region.
