The German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, who was in Bucharest on Tuesday, stated that the "erosion" of the sovereignty of NATO member states is unacceptable and that the eastern flank of the Alliance will be defended together by the allied countries. The German official emphasized the solidarity between Romania and Germany, recalling the joint missions to intercept Russian drones, and warned that Russia continues to test the resolve of the West through hybrid attacks, disinformation, and provocative actions. Wadephul advocated for the expansion and reform of the European Union, considering that the unity and competitiveness of the community bloc are the "greatest asset" in the face of Moscow's aggressions, and welcomed the economic and security cooperation between Romania and Germany.
