Flavia Groșan, a controversial pulmonologist known for her anti-vaccine positions and conspiracy theories related to COVID-19, died on Wednesday after being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the County Hospital in Oradea in serious condition, having multiple metastatic tumors. Since mid-October, Groșan had been in a deep coma, experiencing seizures and suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest, being resuscitated.

On October 10, she posted on Facebook about her health condition, mentioning an exhausting cough and severe lung pain.

Groșan was under disciplinary investigation by the College of Physicians in Romania for unfounded claims related to vaccination. Throughout the pandemic, she promoted controversial theories about unconventional treatments and medical protocols.
