Rodica Gram, a 56-year-old Romanian woman, died on Sunday, October 18, 2026, while working at the “Ida Zuzzi” nursing home in San Michele al Tagliamento, in the province of Venice, Veneto region. The woman suddenly became ill, and authorities are considering a heart attack as a possible cause.
Her colleagues immediately began resuscitation efforts and called emergency medical services for help. The crews arriving from Portogruaro and Latisana continued the intervention and also used a defibrillator, but their efforts were in vain. A doctor pronounced her dead.
The nursing home’s management indicated a natural cause of death. The Carabinieri carried out routine checks, and after the formalities were completed, the body was released to the family for the funeral.
Rodica Gram had recently been living in Jesolo, near her daughter, who had given birth just ten days earlier. She was divorced and had two daughters. Having lived in Italy for many years, the Romanian woman was qualified in social and healthcare assistance and had previously worked at the “Santa Margherita” center in Villanova Santa Margherita.
The nursing home’s president and her former colleagues described her as a valued, empathetic person dedicated to caring for the elderly. Her death caused sadness among the staff and those who knew her.
