The 'Gheorghe Asachi' Technical University of Iași, the Technical University of Moldova, Digital Innovation Zone, and ACETI presented the xDIH project - Cross Border Digital Innovation Hub, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT Romania-Republic of Moldova Program. The event took place on November 28 at the Technical University of Moldova, gathering representatives from authorities, the academic environment, and innovation organizations. The project aims to create a digital innovation hub that will provide access to modern technologies and expertise, supporting both educational institutions and SMEs from both countries.
Representatives of the partner institutions emphasized the strategic importance of xDIH for the regional digital ecosystem, highlighting the need for cross-border collaboration and investments in digital infrastructure. Michelle Iliev, Secretary of State for Digitalization, and Ovidiu Viorel Naftanailă, Chief Collaborator of the Romanian Ambassador in Moldova, stressed the role of innovation in Moldova's European integration. The xDIH project is seen as a concrete step towards modernization and strengthening the ties between the two countries, having the potential to support regional economic development through digital innovation hubs.
