Romania is taking an important step in the development of artificial intelligence by officially launching the RO AI Factory project, which will be implemented by ICI Bucharest and will be operational by the end of 2027.
The project, funded by EuroHPC JU, aims to create a dedicated infrastructure for the development, training, and testing of AI applications, supporting research, the economic environment, and the public sector.
ICI Bucharest will host the high-performance computing infrastructure and will collaborate with the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and other partners to provide advanced artificial intelligence services.
RO AI Factory aims to democratize access to AI resources, especially for start-ups and SMEs, by offering technical support, training, and mentoring.
The project will contribute to Romania's integration into the European AI ecosystem, facilitating international collaborations and the development of innovative solutions with economic and societal applicability.
Implementation will begin with the preparation of the infrastructure and the installation of hardware systems, with services to be gradually expanded.
