Nepalese soldiers have been mobilized on the streets of the capital to establish checkpoints in response to violent protests that erupted due to the ban on social media. These demonstrations, triggered by grievances related to corruption and political privileges, escalated after the police opened fire, killing 19 people. Although the ban on the platforms has been lifted, protests have continued, leading to the burning of government buildings and attacks on political leaders. Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli announced his resignation, intending to lead a caretaker government.
