Road traffic in the area of Victoriei Underpass was blocked in both directions on Tuesday, while tram services were suspended, as a result of protesters being present on the roadway.

“We appeal to the participants in the demonstration to follow the instructions of the law enforcement forces, not to block traffic routes, and to act responsibly, so that the right to protest can be exercised without affecting the safety of other road users and citizens,” the institution said.

Earlier, the Bucharest Gendarmerie announced that the participants had forced their way through the gendarmes’ cordon, entered and blocked road traffic on Pavel D. Kiseleff Road.

The protest by farmers dissatisfied with the state of animal husbandry and agriculture escalated on Tuesday, while the spokesperson for the Bucharest Gendarmerie, Alex Iacob, told Digi24 that “there were infiltrators who manipulated the large mass of protesters into committing acts of disorder.”
