The international press is following the protest by Romanian shepherds and farmers in Victoriei Square, Bucharest, where the demonstration escalated into clashes with law enforcement. The events have drawn the attention of major news agencies, against the backdrop of discontent in the livestock and agricultural sectors.

Bloomberg reported on the clashes between farmers and police, describing the protest as an anti-EU demonstration. The publication’s headline was “Romanian Farmers Clash with Police During Anti-EU Protests.”

The Associated Press provided live coverage for approximately an hour and a half, reporting on developments outside the headquarters of the Romanian Government. The agency presented the protest in real time, noting that farmers had taken to the streets because of problems affecting agriculture and livestock farming.

International reports thus highlight the escalation of the demonstration in central Bucharest and the impact of the protest on Romania’s image in the foreign press.
