The residency exam in Romania takes place on Sunday, with over 10,000 candidates registered in six major university centers: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Iași, Târgu Mureș, and Timișoara. Although just over 5,000 places were made available, the number of candidates is the lowest in recent years. In the field of medicine, 6,956 candidates have registered for 4,354 places, while for dental medicine and pharmacy, the number of candidates is 1,950 and, respectively, 1,241. The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, sent a message of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of future doctors and the necessity not to be intimidated. The exam consists of a multiple-choice test with 200 questions, and candidates have 24 hours to submit appeals. Rogobete promised investments in health infrastructure but emphasized that without human resources, these initiatives will not have an impact. Candidates acknowledge their emotions but feel prepared for the challenge.
