The "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest is organizing the written exam for the admission contest for undergraduate studies on Sunday, with a record number of 6,916 candidates registered for the 1,947 available places.
The distribution of candidates by faculties shows that 2,727 candidates are competing for the Faculty of Medicine, 800 for the Faculty of Dentistry, and 107 for the Faculty of Pharmacy. For the first time, admission to the study programs of the Faculty of Midwifery and Medical Assistance will be based on applications, with 3,282 candidates registered. Additionally, 18 winners of national and international olympiads have been admitted without taking the admission exam.
Rector Viorel Jinga emphasized that this record number of candidates reflects the academic prestige of the university and the quality of education offered, expressing confidence that the new generations of students will contribute to the development of Romanian medicine.
