37,386 candidates are expected today to take the written exam of the national teacher certification competition 2026, a crucial exam for occupying teaching positions in pre-university education.

The exam starts at 9:00 AM and takes place in 117 examination centers across all counties and the municipality of Bucharest. The first results will be published on July 28, and the final results on August 4. The written exam is preceded by special inspections in the classroom or practical tests, and the duration of the exam is four hours, with the possibility of extension for candidates with special needs. The subjects and evaluation criteria will be available on the platform subiecte.edu.ro after the completion of the exam.

Of the 37,386 candidates, 7,510 are graduates of pedagogical studies. The most sought-after disciplines include preschool and primary education, physical education and sports, and Romanian language and literature. The allocation of positions will take place between August 5-6, and to obtain a permanent position, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 7.
