Anti-government protesters attacked a Communist Party office in the city of Moron, Cuba, on Saturday morning in a rare display of public dissent. The violent actions were triggered by power outages exacerbated by the oil blockade imposed by the U.S.

The protest began peacefully on Friday evening but turned into vandalism, with people throwing stones and setting fire to furniture in the reception area. Videos on social media showed the fire and shouts of "freedom." State media reported the detention of five individuals and emphasized that there were no injuries caused by gunfire.

In recent days, other protests have also taken place in Havana, including a sit-in organized by students, in the context of difficulties caused by fuel shortages and power outages.
