Bruno Rodriguez announced that relations between Cuba and the USA are not making progress, emphasizing that Havana is ready for a constructive dialogue, but without illusions. He criticized the attitude of the American State Department, mentioning that its actions, such as the energy siege and additional measures of the blockade, must be analyzed in the context of reality. He also called for a debate in front of the UN General Assembly on the topic of American sanctions, without it being followed by a vote.
Cuba intends to denounce the aggressive actions of the American government, including threats of military aggression. Relations between the two countries, already strained due to the 1962 embargo, have deteriorated even further recently, especially after the overthrow of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, an ally of Cuba. In an attempt to cope with the economic crisis, Havana has adopted unprecedented measures to encourage the market economy, a significant shift from the traditional communist model.
