The partial collapse of a concrete roof at Novi Sad railway station, which killed 15 people, sparked widespread protests in Serbia. Students, taking the lead in the protest movement, called for a general strike, to which many schools, teachers, parents, lawyers, theaters and cinemas responded. The protesters believe the accident was the result of corruption, as the station has just been restored.
