Two cyclists participating in the competition "L'Étape Romania by Tour de France" were injured on Sunday, August 30, around 11:05 AM, by a car driven by a 72-year-old man, at the intersection of Buzești Street and Sevastopol Street in Bucharest.
The accident occurred while the driver was traveling on Bd. Alexandru Ioan Cuza and hit the cyclists at the intersection. The Capital Police confirmed that the driver was tested with a breathalyzer, the result indicating that he had not consumed alcohol. One of the cyclists was transported to the hospital for medical care. The Traffic Brigade is conducting investigations to establish the exact circumstances of the accident and recommends that drivers avoid the competition area and follow the instructions of the traffic police.
"L'Étape Romania by Tour de France" is an open competition for cyclists of all ages, now in its fifth edition.
