The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) informs that the protests in Serbia will take place in the capital Belgrade, as well as in the cities of Kragujevac and Kraljevo. Romanians traveling in these areas are advised to avoid crowded places and protest activities, exercising increased caution.

The MFA recommends monitoring the information provided by the Serbian authorities and consulting the official websites of the MFA and the Romanian Embassy in Belgrade before traveling.

The protests in Serbia have been ongoing for over a year, triggered by the collapse of the roof of the train station in Novi Sad, resulting in 16 deaths. The protest movement, mainly led by students, demands the fight against corruption and the organization of early elections.

The protests scheduled for June 27 and 28 coincide with the Vidovdan celebration. Authorities expect a large turnout and possible disruptions to traffic.
