Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Thursday that he will severely punish those involved in university exam fraud, following massive student protests that have lasted for four days. These frauds have caused unrest among the youth, who are demanding the resignation of the Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan.

The police in New Delhi violently suppressed the protests, resulting in 180 injuries, mostly among law enforcement members. The students, who continue to occupy the Jantar Mantar esplanade, are coordinated by the "People's Party of Thinkers," a movement created in response to the comments made by the Chief Justice regarding unemployed youth. The protests are fueled by concerns over employment difficulties and suicides caused by exam pressure. The opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi, has harshly criticized Modi's government, accusing it of destroying the future of Indian youth.
