The plans for the structural reorganization of the military leadership in North Korea have been approved during a meeting led by Kim Jong Un.
No Kwang Chol has been removed from the position of Minister of Defense and demoted, being appointed as the first deputy director of the Department for Munitions Industry. Kim Song Gi, previously the leader of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, has been appointed the new Minister of Defense. Additionally, Pak Jong Chon has been promoted to vice chairman of the Central Military Commission.
Kim Jong Un also awarded scientists and officials who contributed to the development of military technology.
These changes occurred after joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States, which Pyongyang considers "provocative."
