Thousands of people gathered on Sunday in the city of Kraljevo, Serbia, to continue protests against the government in Belgrade, following President Aleksandar Vucic's announcement that he would resign from office. This demonstration is part of a wave of discontent generated by the tragedy at the train station in Novi Sad in November 2024, when the roof collapse led to the death of 16 people, symbolizing poor government management and corruption.

Although Vucic's withdrawal has sparked hopes for change, analysts suggest that he may remain active in politics, running for the position of prime minister or supporting a close associate for the presidency. Vucic stated that he would resign after a few weeks but would continue to be involved in the campaign of the Serbian Progressive Party. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel warning, advising Romanian citizens to be cautious while traveling in Serbia.
