The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that Russia has begun to import fuels, according to the official news agency TASS, picked up by Reuters.
Although he did not provide details about the volumes imported or their sources, Novak mentioned that the government in Moscow expects several Russian refineries to resume production soon, after scheduled maintenance, which could lead to a greater supply of fuels.
Typically, Russia is a net exporter of fuels, but recently it has been forced to resort to imports due to frequent Ukrainian attacks on energy facilities, which have led to a significant reduction in the production of refined petroleum derivatives. These attacks have generated fuel shortages across the country, highlighting the impact of the conflict on the Russian energy sector.
