Russia is turning to imports from Kazakhstan and Belarus amid a full-blown gasoline crisis.

Russia is facing a fuel supply crisis caused by Ukrainian drone attacks that have led to disruptions in the operation of refineries.

At the end of June, local authorities reported that approximately 90% of the regions in the country had implemented fuel rationing measures or had encountered supply disruptions.

This shortage has prompted Russian authorities to seek alternative solutions, including additional fuel deliveries from Kazakhstan and Belarus, as well as maritime imports of gasoline from India.

Furthermore, starting April 1, 2026, Russia has banned gasoline exports, except for deliveries under intergovernmental agreements with certain Central Asian states. This complicated situation highlights the impact of the conflict on the Russian economy and the challenges it faces in securing energy resources.
