Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on several targets in southern Russia on Monday morning, September 28, including fuel depots in the Krasnodar region. Local authorities reported fires in three localities, caused by the falling debris of drones shot down by air defenses.
The fires broke out at civilian companies in the Dinski, Pavlovski, and Krasnoarmeiski districts. According to the regional administration, no casualties were reported in Krasnodar. The independent Russian channel Astra reported that the targeted sites may have included the Edelveis-95 fuel depot base, which distributes diesel and gasoline.
In the Voronezh region, air defenses reportedly shot down approximately 20 drones. Governor Aleksandr Gusev announced that four civilians were injured, including three children, while two people are in serious condition.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have shot down 254 Ukrainian drones over 15 regions, as well as over annexed Crimea and the Black and Azov Seas. The information has not been independently confirmed. The attack was reported by local authorities and by the independent Russian and Ukrainian press.
