The Jag Vasant and Pine Gas tankers, which transport 92,000 tons of LPG, are expected to arrive in Indian ports between March 26 and 28, according to the Indian ministry. These ships join two others under the Indian flag that recently passed through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime route for global oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply.
The passage of these ships represents an exception, considering that Iran has restricted maritime traffic in the area due to Israeli-American attacks.
India, the world's fourth-largest LNG buyer and the second-largest LPG buyer, is facing a reduction in supply and has ordered stricter controls on natural gas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of maintaining supply chains affected by conflict, while India strengthens its relations with Israel, despite traditional ties with Tehran.
