Local taxes and levies in Bucharest, the residential parking fee and the tourism promotion fee could remain unchanged in 2027. Bucharest City Hall has opened for public debate a draft decision providing for these charges to be capped at their 2026 levels. The draft is scheduled to be put to a vote by the General Council of Bucharest Municipality on November 12.
According to the document, the tourism promotion fee will remain at 10 lei for each night of accommodation, while residential parking fees will not be increased. The draft also provides for a 10% discount for taxpayers who pay, by March 31, their building, land and vehicle taxes for the entire year.
The local councils of sectors 1–6 will be able to approve reductions or exemptions from the payment of certain taxes and fees, in accordance with the law. Late payments will be subject to the increases provided for under legislation governing budgetary receivables.
In 2026, taxes were set taking into account an inflation rate of 5.6%, while the taxable value of buildings was increased. For homes with a concrete structure or brick walls and all utilities, the value is 2,677 lei per square meter. For buildings without these utilities, the value is 1,606 lei per square meter, while for those with wooden walls, it is 803 lei per square meter. The land tax also remains variable, depending on the area and the land-use category.
