Romania is facing a Mediterranean cyclone, Deborah, which will bring heavy rains in the south and east, as well as significant snowfall in the mountains, where the snow layer can reach up to 50 cm.
The ANM meteorologist, Robert Manta, announced that until Monday morning, a yellow alert for significant precipitation and blizzards in the mountains is in effect, affecting more than half of the country. The highest amounts of precipitation are expected in the Subcarpathian area of Moldova, where accumulations of over 50 l/m² are estimated. In the mountains, snowfall will intensify, and the snow layer will increase by 40-50 cm.
Although the weather is unstable, temperatures in the low areas will not drop significantly, with values up to 15 degrees Celsius in the east and west. The meteorologist emphasized that, although the weather is cooling down, temperatures will not decrease drastically.
