On Saturday, July 18, Romania will be affected by a heatwave, with maximum temperatures between 34-37°C in Maramureș, north-western Transylvania, Crișana, Banat, and southern Oltenia.

The National Meteorological Administration warns that the nights will be tropical, with minimums of 20-22°C. At the same time, the mountainous areas and Maramureș will be under instability warning, with a yellow code in the west and east of Transylvania. Extreme phenomena will include torrential downpours, electrical discharges, and gusty winds of 50-70 km/h, and hail will have sizes of 1-3 cm.

On Sunday, the instability will extend towards Oltenia and western Muntenia, with showers and wind intensifications. The amounts of water will be significant, reaching 20-30 l/m², and hail may reach sizes of 1-4 cm. The National Meteorological Administration warns about the risks associated with these extreme weather phenomena.
