Meteorologists have issued two yellow warnings for unstable weather and heatwave, valid in numerous counties in Romania. The warning for unstable weather is active starting today and until August 26, at 23:00, while in the south of the country, the counties of Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Călărași and the municipality of Bucharest are under a yellow alert for heatwave until 22:00, with maximum temperatures between 34 and 37 degrees.
Additionally, the yellow alert for strong storms will be in effect between August 25, 16:00 and August 26, 08:00, concerning southern Banat, Oltenia, Transylvania, northern Muntenia, Maramureș and the northern half of Moldova. Torrential downpours, electrical discharges, wind intensifications and isolated gusts are expected, with water quantities of 15-50 l/m². A second storm alert will come into effect tomorrow, from 08:00 until 23:00.
