The ANM announces an intensification of the heatwave and warns about storms that will affect more than half of the country.

Meteorologists have announced that, until Saturday, July 18, Romania will face a heat wave that will expand and intensify, affecting the western, southern, and southeastern regions.

The temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units, and maximum temperatures will reach 35-37 degrees. At the same time, the National Meteorological Administration has issued yellow heat warnings for the counties of Dolj, Mehedinți, Caraș-Severin, Timiș, Arad, Bihor, and Satu Mare, where thermal discomfort will be high.

On the other hand, a large part of the country will be under a yellow warning for storms, with torrential downpours and wind intensifications, especially in the mountainous area and in the regions of Maramureș, Transylvania, and Dobrogea. On Friday, July 17, storms are also expected in limited areas, with similar weather conditions.
