The National Meteorological Agency issued several orange and yellow alerts on Sunday morning for strong storms and heatwave, valid until Monday evening.
The yellow heatwave alert is active from July 19, 10 AM – July 20, 10 AM, targeting areas such as Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, and Dobrogea, where temperatures will reach 34-37 degrees. Meanwhile, the strong storm alerts affect half of the country, with torrential downpours, electrical discharges, and gusts reaching 70-90 km/h in the affected regions.
The yellow storm alert is valid until 10 PM, while the orange alert, which comes into effect at 1 PM, will apply to the northern half of Moldova and eastern Transylvania. Unstable weather will continue on Monday, with new storm alerts in various regions of the country, where significant amounts of water and hail are expected.
