On October 22, employees from social assistance and child protection will protest in front of the Ministry of Labor in Bucharest, complaining about the lack of responsibility of the Romanian Government towards the social assistance system, which is considered to be in financial collapse. The union members accuse the ministry of not updating the cost standards for 2025, which has led to discrepancies between budgetary funds and actual costs. Over 5,000 employees from DGASPCs have not received their salaries for September, and some have not been paid for nearly three months, reaching desperate situations.

The union members warn that half of the DGASPCs will not have funds for salaries and utilities starting in November 2025, which risks severely affecting social services. They demand respect for employees' rights and the provision of necessary funds for the functioning of the system.
