Several trade union federations, including Cartel Alfa, will protest on Tuesday, between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Labor to demand an increase in the minimum wage starting January 1, 2027, and the unblocking of collective negotiations at the sectoral and national level.

The unions emphasize that an adequate minimum wage cannot be established solely through administrative decisions, but requires collective contracts to ensure higher wages than the legal minimum. According to the unionists, these demands are essential to improve working conditions and to meet European objectives.

The protest will be attended by the Federation of Trade Unions in Commerce, IT & Communications, the Financial Industry, and others, who are claiming blockages in the negotiations of collective contracts due to the refusal of some companies to participate. The unions accuse the state of not assuming its role as a facilitator of these negotiations. They demand that the minimum wage be established through a transparent mechanism, taking into account the increase in prices and taxes, to prevent the decrease in the purchasing power of the most vulnerable employees.
