On Tuesday, between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, several trade union federations, including those from Commerce, IT, Communications, and the Financial Industry, will protest in front of the Ministry of Labor. They are demanding an increase in the minimum wage starting January 1, 2027, and the unblocking of collective negotiations at the sectoral and national levels.

According to the National Trade Union Confederation Cartel Alfa, the two demands are interconnected, emphasizing that an adequate minimum wage cannot be established solely through administrative decisions, but requires collective contracts that exceed the legal minimum. The unions warn that blocking collective negotiations affects Romania's ability to meet European standards regarding minimum wages.

The protest will also include representatives of the Federation of Insurance and Banking Unions, who are joining the calls for fair and negotiated pay.
