From September 14 to 25, the Romanian Air Force is conducting Exercise Burebista 26 throughout Romania. The training is taking place under a fictional scenario and aims to prepare military structures for planning and conducting combat actions as part of an air operation.
All command-and-control and operational structures within the Romanian Air Force are participating in the exercise, with the support of the Land Forces and the Special Operations Forces. According to the Air Force General Staff, the novelty of the exercise lies in its integrated and joint-service nature, which enables the training of cooperation among several branches of the armed forces.
Throughout the exercise, military equipment and personnel will move along ground routes, and low-altitude flights will take place in all regions of the country. The activities are part of the military structures' training program and are being conducted according to a pre-established operational scenario. The military authorities warn that the movement of personnel, equipment, and aircraft will continue throughout the entire exercise period.
