The Ministry of National Defence begins the MOBEX Bucharest-Ilfov exercise to assess the readiness of the population and reservists

The Ministry of National Defence begins the “MOBEX Bucharest - Ilfov 26” mobilization exercise on Monday, which will take place until October 12 in Bucharest and Ilfov County. The activity aims to verify the state of the population’s preparedness for defence and how military structures can be supplemented with human and material resources.

Some of the reservists domiciled in the capital and Ilfov County will report to the designated units on the day specified in the call-up order. They will participate in training sequences for one day. The orders will be distributed by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to Law no. 446/2006, reservists are required to take part in training sessions and exercises evaluating the reserve. Employers must ensure their attendance by granting them an additional paid day of leave, based on the certificate issued by the military centre.

MOBEX exercises are organized annually and generally cover up to ten counties. The last similar exercise in Bucharest and Ilfov took place last year, while this year’s edition includes the units that were not inspected during MOBEX B-IF-25.

The Ministry of National Defence emphasizes that the activity is routine in nature and recommends obtaining information from official sources.
