The leader of AUR, George Simion, clarified that there is no formal alliance with PSD, emphasizing that AUR collaborates on specific issues with various parties. However, when asked about a possible government with PSD, Simion stated that he does not exclude this scenario, but asserted that AUR must become the first party in Parliament.

He mentioned that the party's objective is to reach early elections, considering that there is a majority that would allow this.

"Never say never. First, we must pass the motion of censure. We are in the midst of a coup. Romanians need to know that until now, they have been led down a path to disaster by the same political forces. I have a duty to the Romanians who voted for me to lead AUR to the leadership of the country as the first party (...) our objective is to reach early elections. We don't know if it's political marketing or not, but it seems that USR and PNL have the same intentions," Simion stated.

Previously, Simion rejected accusations of collaboration with PSD, stating that the motion of censure is a step towards returning to democracy. He also avoided directly answering the question of whether he would resign in the event of an alliance with PSD, reaffirming AUR's commitment not to collaborate with this party.

Even on Tuesday, before the submission of the motion, the AUR leader said that there will be no collaboration with PSD for a future government.

Simion announced on Tuesday that 253 parliamentarians from AUR, PSD, POT, PACE, United for Romania, and independents have signed the motion of censure against the liberal government led by Ilie Bolojan.
